The Illinois River at Chewey.
* until Monday morning, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 12:15 PM Saturday, the stage was 13.64 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The Illinois River at Chewey will continue rising to
near 20.0 feet Sunday morning. The river is expected to fall below
flood stage Monday before dawn.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet, very severe flooding occurs from near
Fidler's Bend to near Hanging Rock. Highway 10 near Hanging Rock
northeast of Tahlequah is impassible. Water impacts Chewey Road
east of Chewey Bridge. Numerous cabins in the Fidler's Bend area
are flooded to a depth of several feet. This is a very dangerous
and life threatening situation.

* Forecast...The Illinois River near Watts will continue rising to
near 22.0 feet this evening. The river is expected to fall below
flood stage Sunday afternoon.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet, very severe flooding occurs from the Arkansas
border to Fidler's Bend. The permanent building at River Valley
Raceway is flooded to a depth of a couple of feet. Numerous cabins
in the Fidler's Bend area are flooded to a depth of several feet.
This is a very dangerous and life threatening situation.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flood Warning for
The Little River near Tecumseh.

* until this evening...or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 11:30 AM Saturday the stage was 11.3 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

* Forecast...The Little River will continue rising to near 12.5 feet
early Saturday afternoon. The Little River will fall below flood
stage late Saturday afternoon.

* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Flooding to depths of 2 feet occurs over
croplands...pastures...and rural roads along the river. The area
affected is entirely rural...and downstream of Lake Thunderbird...
from near Macomb in Pottawatomie County to near Bowlegs in western
Seminole County.

* Until 900 PM CST Saturday

* At 905 AM CST, Doppler radar estimates that between 2 and 3 inches
of widespread rain fell across this region last night, with some
locally heavier amounts. Numerous roads remain closed due to high
water. Another round of brief heavy rain and thunderstorms will
move into this region later Saturday morning. Flooding will likely
linger thru the day today and possibly into the day on Sunday
before the waters begin to recede.

Fayetteville... Springdale...
Rogers... Bentonville...
Tahlequah... Siloam Springs...
Sallisaw... Berryville...
Stilwell... Jay...
Eureka Springs... Bella Vista...
Lowell... Grove...
Farmington... Pea Ridge...
Prairie Grove... Gentry...
Elkins... Tontitown...

This includes the following highways,
Interstate 40 in Oklahoma between mile markers 289 and 307.
Interstate 44 between mile markers 320 and 323.
Interstate 49 between mile markers 45 and 84, and between mile
markers 86 and 93.

This areal flood warning replaces the current flash flood warning
that is set to expire at 930 AM. Portions of this areal flood
warning may need to be upgraded to a flash flood warning again if
the conditions warrant.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
