The News On 6 signed on the air on October 15, 1949 as Tulsa's first television station. Located in the former garage of an International Harvester dealership at 3rd and Frankfort, The News On 6 was one of only 90 television stations in the country at the time and boasted the industry's largest studio. Celebrities Patti Page and then-Governor Roy Turner were on hand for the first commercial broadcast from The News On 6 in downtown Tulsa. More>>
The station now known as The Tulsa CW signed on the air September 12, 1999, as KWBT. Griffin Communications took over day-to-day operation in October of 2005. More>>

Griffin Communications' unique strategy of concentrating its media efforts in the state of Oklahoma began in the early 1930s when J.T. Griffin, grandfather of current owners David and John Griffin, became fascinated by radio technology. J.T. first launched a radio station in Tulsa, KTUL, a CBS affiliate, then purchased a second radio station in Oklahoma City, KOMA. More>>
The Radio Oklahoma Network began in 1994 as the Quinstar Radio Network. It was the dream of Enid radio station owner Kyle Williams and long time Oklahoma broadcaster, the late Bert Chambers. They wanted a new source for Oklahoma agricultural news for their stations and the seeds of "Quinstar" were planted. More>>
