TULSA, OK -- City of Tulsa employees will be taking a furlough day next Monday, the third of eight furlough days for those employees.
In a news release from the city of Tulsa; the city is taking a furlough day due to budget reductions in Fiscal Year 2010, which began in July 2009.
Monday is also Columbus Day.
Officials say public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal on Monday.

Trash and curbside recycling services will operate on Monday.
The City of Tulsa green waste site, 10401 East 56th Street North, also will be open on Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tulsa Parks' recreation centers will be closed on Monday as well as the City of Tulsa's Animal Welfare Shelter at 3031 North Erie Ave.
Both of Tulsa's public golf courses, Mohawk and Page Belcher, as well as the Tulsa Zoo, will be open on Monday, October 12.
