TULSA COUNTY -- Tulsa County receives national recognition for transparency in government.
"The Sam Adams Alliance Sunshine Review Project" gave Tulsa County the only A+ in the state for proving information to residents through its website.
And, it's one of just five counties out of 3,000 in the nation to get that grade.
The county first received a C- but made big changes within three weeks.
"Our folks here weren't satisfied with doing just minimum to get that A. We went above and beyond to provide some extra information on our website to make sure that we got an A+ rating," said John Smaligo, Tulsa County Commission.
69 Oklahoma counties failed the transparency evaluation. Most of those failed because they don't have a website.
