OKLAHOMA CITY -- Friends and family gathered Friday afternoon to remember a 9-year-old Nichols Hill boy who was allegedly killed by his father.

Services for Tommy Wolf were at Christ the King Church. Graveside services were at the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.

"If an event like this can be called beautiful, it was beautiful. It was just right," said Mary Tidholm, who attended Tommy's funeral.

Those in attendance said the 90 minute service was somber yet reflective revealing the bright light that was Tommy Wolf.

"He talked about what a great kid he was. What an energetic kid he was," said family friend Bill Cathey. "He loved everything, the boy scouts, his friends. He was brilliantly smart. He was awesome in every aspect."

Which is why Cathey said he still struggles with the fact that Tommy's young life was cut short, reportedly, by his father's own hand.

Investigators said Tommy was stabbed several times by his father, Dr. Stephen Wolf at their home on Elmhurst Avenue. Doctor Wolf believed his son, Tommy, was possessed by the devil, according to court documents.

"We can't understand it. All I know is the Stephen Wolf I know was not this Stephen Wolf," Cathey said.

Answers into the cause of this tragedy may never come, but residents are hoping Friday's service could help them heal.

"It's what the community and particularly the family needed," Tidholm said.

Doctor Wolf was not allowed to attend his son's funeral. He remains in the Oklahoma County Jail under suicide watch. Next week prosecutors will officially charge him with murder.
