Edmond Man Crushed By Dump Truck

ROLAND, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly construction accident that killed an Edmond man.

It happened Saturday morning on the westbound lanes of I-40 a mile east of Roland.

Troopers say a Mack dump truck was backing up into a construction zone when it struck 48-year-old Anthony Avery.

Avery was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the dump truck, 48-year-old David Francis of Keota, was not injured.

It's not clear what caused the accident.
