TULSA, Oklahoma -- A 22-year-old man faces several charges after leading Tulsa Police on a high-speed chase early Thursday morning.

The pursuit happened at around 1:30 a.m. when a Tulsa police officer spotted a stolen car near 36th and Sheridan.

When the officer turned his lights on, the suspect, Brandon Ford, drove onto I-44 heading east and then went southbound on 161st East Avenue.  The car then drove west on Admiral.

Police say Ford drove over two separate spike strips which flattened two of the car's tires.

Tulsa Police say Ford finally spun out near Pine and Toledo, then got out of the car and ran.

Police say once the Tulsa police helicopter took over the chase, the ground units backed off and the suspect slowed down.

The helicopter tracked him to a nearby backyard where he was arrested. Officers then found a working meth lab in the car.

Ford was booked into the Tulsa County jail.  Police say he had an outstanding warrant for car theft in Pawnee County as well as some warrants in Tulsa County.
