CHOCTAW, Okla. (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded three small earthquakes in central Oklahoma. The U.S.G.S. reports a 3.1 magnitude earthquake shortly after noon yesterday that came after a 2.5 magnitude quake recorded about 5:15 a.m. Authorities told reporters that there were no reports of injury or damage in the quakes about 15 miles east of Oklahoma City.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Health and insurance groups in Oklahoma are trying to reach out to uninsured residents as the deadline approaches for open enrollment in health care plans under the federal health care law. March 31st is the final day for open enrollment until the next enrollment period begins November 15th. The law includes financial penalties for people who have no health insurance.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Police say a loaded gun found in a restroom at the University of Oklahoma Children's Hospital belonged to a prison guard who had taken an inmate to the hospital. Authorities say the female inmate was taken to the hospital February 26th to give birth and the guard went to the restroom, where she left a loaded 9 millimeter handgun. No names were released. KOCO reports the Corrections Department says it is investigating the incident.
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Governor Mary Fallin will be in Stillwater to join Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis in announcing an education initiative. Fallin and Hargis are to announce the start of OSUTeach during a news conference later this morning on the OSU campus.
