NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Trevor Knight threw for 253 yards and a touchdown and Keith Ford had 116 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns to help 4th ranked Oklahoma beat Louisiana Tech 48-16 Saturday night. Ford ran for 51 yards and caught four passes for 65 yards for the Sooners, who rolled to a 31-0 lead in the second quarter.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma inside linebacker Jordan Evans was ejected from Saturday night's game against Louisiana Tech for targeting. Evans went to make a play on Louisiana Tech quarterback Cody Sokol with 5:04 left in the first quarter. Evans went over Sokol's head as Sokol ducked to avoid contact. The play was reviewed and the call stood.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Jameis Winston threw for 370 yards and scored on a sparkling 28-yard run, and top ranked Florida State opened defense of its national title with a 37-31 victory Saturday night over Oklahoma State at Cowboys Stadium. OSU was a 19-point underdog in Arlington, Texas but stayed close when J.W. Walsh matched Winston's scoring run with a 24-yard sprint and dive across the goal line to get within 27-24 early in the fourth quarter.

IRVING, Texas (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys have waived running back Ryan Williams and receivers LaRon Byrd and Jamar Newsome while acquiring former LSU defensive end Lavar Edwards in a trade with Tennessee. Two of the team's five seventh-round draft picks this year were waived Saturday.
