Tracking Some AM Storms

Good morning. We're tracking storms this morning across southern Kansas and northern OK. Some of these were quite severe late yesterday evening with wind damage reported in a few spots across northern OK and a tornado or two in southern Kansas. There will remain a threat for a few severe storms this morning across part of northern OK but the severe threat should be decreasing soon. Pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in a few locations along the state line early this morning. The ... More>>

Storm Chances Tonight

Good morning. We're tracking a few showers and storms this morning located across southern Kansas and extreme northern OK. Most, it not all, will remain along the state line. I'll keep a slight chance of a shower or storm brushing the northern OK areas from now through 8am this morning. Otherwise our forecast will focus on another chance for thunderstorms arriving later tonight into Tuesday morning as cold front slides southward. Afternoon highs in the mid-90s will be likely along with south ... More>>

We're tracking scattered showers and thunderstorms across the state today including the morning hours. This system will keep the rain and storm chances in the forecast through the first half of the weekend. A broad range of temperatures may be possible this afternoon, but we're forecasting many locations to remain in the 80s. The main upper level system will be moving across southwestern Kansas today and then eastward... More>>

Rain On The Way

Good morning. We're continuing to focus the forecast on rain and storm chances for the next few days as a slow moving storm system draws near the area. A few showers are located to our west and northwest this morning and should remain west of most of the area today. But later tonight a band or two of storms will migrate eastward into our area, probably around midnight, and move slowly across eastern OK during early Friday morning. We're not anticipating severe weather, but some locally heavy ... More>>

Good morning. This is the day we start to slowly see a minor pattern change that will result in a chance for a few showers or storms. The mid-level ridge of high pressure near the region today will slowly slide westward and flatten.
