Kim & Lisa Howe

Nominated By: Kristy Grounds

Kim (husband), Lisa, and son Jacob are going to spend the winter with only space heaters. They lost their system just before the heat wave broke this summer. They managed through the last few days of that. Now, the cold is starting to set in and say they'll be fine with just space heaters. However, we know how dangerous those can be.

They almost lost their home due to a pay cut for Kim, but everything they have is going to keep it and there is nothing left over to replace an expensive HVAC system. They are two years away from having the home paid off; they don't expect a hand-out from anyone, they believe in taking care of their things on their own. If more people had that type of attitude, there would be more money available to help those that really need help. I think that is a good reason for the Howes to be considered and get some help.

Angela Williams

Nominated By: Janet Stewart

Ms. Williams is a very devoted mother. She has two sons, during the winter storms of 2011; her only complaint was that her children were without sufficient heat which was the kitchen stove and electric heaters.

Ms. Williams has not had an adequate heating/cooling unit for the past two years. Ms. Williams is a very hard working person. She is a single mother, a preschool teacher, and she is buying her home. She teaches her boys to be grateful for the things God have given them, to be caring individuals and to be respectful of others, especially adults. In this day and time, it is so very comforting to meet children who have good manners, who answers "yes ma'am or no ma'am."

Her children are the most important persons in her life, next to God. It is very difficult for me because I am not able to help her in this situation. She has made several attempts to fix the unit without much success. If I was in a position to purchase the unit for Ms. Williams and her boys, I would do it. When I found out about this contest, without hesitation, I wanted to enter the name of this family.

There have been a lot of trials and tribulations in this young lady's life and through all of them she has kept her trust in God and taught her children not only with words but with actions to remain faithful and believe in God's word. This family is very special to me. I am the children's God Mother. God Bless Channel 6 and Airco Service for you gracious and kind offer in helping those in need. God Bless You.

Angela is a single mother of pre-teen boys. She is an amazing teacher and does an awesome job investing into students' lives. She is a very encouraging woman and has been through a lot of hardship but keeps on going. She has an amazing story. Her boys are well mannered and very sweet young men.

Nominated By: Suzanne Penley

Angela is a single mom of two preteen boys ages 11 and 13. She is a teacher and is well liked by her students. She has had a great impact on my own child and mentored her in work at the early childhood development center with the Tulsa Tech program. Her children are well behaved and have been brought up with good morals and integrity. She is without a working heating unit and would greatly benefit from your help.
