

Moore was founded in the 1889 land run. The little town grew steadily for seventy years -- then it exploded in a frenzy of expansion and development. In 1961 approximately 21.6 square miles of additional territory was annexed and Moore became a city in 1962. The decade of the 60's saw Moore's population soar. Earl’s Rib Palace is located in the newly developed Riverwalk area in Moore. Earlywine “Earl” Jackson was born in Oklahoma in 1909. In his lifetime, he prepared barbeque for numerous notable people and achieved things many chefs only dream of, including being Elvis Presley’s personal chef for a time. His family carries on his traditions with his recipes. Join us on July 22 for barbeque, prizes, and lots of fun.
Big Wheel Nationals is the ultimate kids Big Wheels race located in the heart of Moore at the Community Center. This family friendly event puts kids in a drag strip style race against fellow youngsters ages 4 to 8 on Big Wheels decorated by 25 of Moore’s local businesses. Come to the Moore Community Center to see the who is the fastest kid in town.
Oklahoma’s number one Meteorologist, Gary England, will teach kids about Oklahoma weather during an entertaining and informative weather presentation.
Lauren Nelson and Christina Eckert will join in on a pool tournament and learn a trick or two about the game in the morning.
