Olde Orchard Restaurant

Olde Orchard Restaurant has been a town staple since 1974 and is one of the top restaurants in Bethany. Loyal customers gather daily to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and Mom & Pop cookin’. Come enjoy try some biscuits and gravy or an omelet.

Swadley’s Bar–B–Q has been serving the Bethany community since 2002. They pride themselves in their one rule of keeping their customers #1. Their claim to fame is their custom–smoked meats which are prepared fresh daily. Come enjoy some good food and lots of fun.

Ripper Park Aquatic Center

Nothing goes better than a hot day and cool dip in a pool. Ripper Park has opened its doors and is now open for the summer. Come for a swim and enjoy a FREE News 9 Slushee while supplies last. Stormy, the News 9 Weather Dog, will be there, too.

Western Oaks Middle School

Robin Marsh and Jed Castles will join Western Oaks Middle School at the beginning of their school day on Wednesday, June 8, to hang out with students, participate in some math activities, and try not to get expelled.

Bethany Library

Robin Marsh and Jed Castles will join Ms. Susan Wood during her class at the Bethany Library class on Wednesday, June 8.


Oklahoma’s number one Meteorologist, Gary England, will teach kids about Oklahoma weather during an entertaining and informative weather presentation.

Fun Facts About Bethany »

  • Bethany was incorporated as a town on August 8, 1910. By 1920, 485 people lived in Bethany, by 1930 more than 2,000, and since 1990, the city has had a steady population more than 20,000.
  • Today Bethany is world headquarters of the Pinto Horse Association Since the 1930s, the Pinto Horse Association of America Inc. records and preserves pedigrees of Pinto horses, ponies and miniatures. The association provides competition and recreation activities for Pinto lovers of all ages. It moved its permanent location to Bethany in 2004 and also boasts the Pinto Heritage Museum as well as the Pinto Heritage Foundation, Inc. Several Pintos are also part of the stock at the SNU Equestrian Center.
  • Both Southern Nazarene University and Southwestern Christian University make Bethany their home. Both colleges are growing and have built/are building large new student housing projects during 2011. (SNU’s opened in January and SWCU’s will open in August.)
  • Bethany was the starting point for many successful businesses, including Diffee Motors, City Bites, and Swadley’s BBQ.
  • Many famous people started in Bethany, including astronaut Dr. Shannon Lucid, baseball star Allie Reynolds and St. Louis Rams special teams’ defender Chris Chamberlain. Also, Rams quarterback Sam Bradford attended elementary school at Lake Park in Bethany.
