MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- A Midwest Cit woman's cell phone aided in the arrest of her abusive live-in-boyfriend for the second time in two months.

On Sunday, Brenda Lowe sent a text message to her brother asking him to call police. When officers arrived at Lowe's house, they saw Lowe's boyfriend, Joseph Degeare, 38, standing in the doorway.

Police were eventually able to get Lowe out safely and discovered she had been a victim of domestic abuse.

Degeare was arrested on domestic assault and battery, obstructing a police officer and possession of marijuana.

Degeare was then transported to the hospital after complaining of chest pains. Degeare will be examined before he is booked into jail.

Back in March, Lowe called 911 on her cell phone and left the line open. Emergency dispatchers were able to hear a violent domestic dispute between Lowe and Degeare and were able to locate her using GPS technology.

Degeare was arrested that time for domestic assault and battery and attempted first degree rape.
