ENID, Okla. (AP) -- The wheat harvest in Oklahoma is coming to an end and the crop is coming in with yields and test weights that are slightly better than expected.

Lee Redman at Carrier Mill and Elevator just northwest of Enid says farmers have had yields of 35 to 40 bushels per acre although some are as low as 25 bushels per acre.

Redman says test weights of 59 to 60 pounds per bushel are better than expected. Test weights must be 60 pounds per bushel for number one grade wheat.

At Garber Co-op east of Enid officials say the harvest is ongoing. Rick Weathers says some are producing 40 bushels per acre but most yields are about 20 bushels and some as low as 10 to 15 bushels per acre.
