DRUMRIGHT, OK -- The investigation goes on into a wreck that killed two people and injured two others. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is looking into what may have caused the wreck that killed a Drumright couple. It happened on Highway 33 just east of Drumright in Creek County. Troopers say the stretch of road can be dangerous.
Preston Mitchell was home Thursday night when he suddenly knew something terrible had happened just across the road.
"I was sitting in the chair and I felt the shock wave come through the house. So, I ran outside, saw the car on fire," said Preston Mitchell of Creek County.

"The Mustang was on fire, Cameron my friend, and a couple other people were trying to pull him out of the Mustang. And, the other people, they were gone," said Preston Mitchell.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a car driven by 20-year-old Dale Parson hit another car head on. Witnesses say he was trying to pass another car. Billy and Betty Semler, both 51, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The wreck left Parson in serious condition.
"For some reason, and we're still investigating, was left of center, as if to be passing," said Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown.
Troopers say they've worked wrecks on Highway 33 before and the road can be dangerous, mainly because there are so many cars.
"There are a lot of hazards on that road. You've got county roads coming off to a major highway. You have vehicles used to traveling at slower speeds. You've got vehicles getting off the turnpike that have been traveling at a higher speed and they are still in that mode," said OHP Trooper Sue Farley.
Troopers say drivers should use caution.
As for Preston Mitchell, the wreck is something he'll never forget and he hopes people drive more carefully on the busy highway in front of his home.
A 15-year-old in the Semler's car was also taken to the hospital in serious condition with arm, leg and internal injuries.
