TULSA, OK -- Police are teaming up with local security guards to make the city safer. In their new joint venture, officers and guards will be talking more and coordinating their efforts.
The move will not only make it easier for the two groups to work together, it will multiply the efforts of each group.
"The security guy is going to be more effective to his client, the police officer is going to be more effective to the agency he serves and the community wins because the community is safer," said Vic Meyer of ASIS International.
Security officers will also go on ride alongs with Tulsa Police to help them learn how they can help officers at scenes.
