TULSA, OK -- A fire destroys a south Tulsa home late Thursday evening.
Tulsa Fire says the fire happened in a home near 53rd and Memorial at around 8:30 p.m.
The fire destroyed the garage and second story areas of the home. At one time, Tulsa Fire says firefighters had to leave the house due to flames and smoke.
Residents inside the home were able to get out safely, however a small dog did not survive.
Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Red Cross is assisting the family.
