TULSA, OK -- Next Wednesday, November 25, is a furlough day for city of Tulsa employees. In a news release, the city says City Hall and most city offices will be closed that day.
Those offices will also be closed on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.
Furlough days were included as part of budget reductions for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.
Furlough days will not affect trash service and curbside recycling, both of which will operate as normal on Wednesday and Friday. Trash will not be picked up on Thursday, November 26th, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problems may call the City's 24-hour emergency number, 596-9488.
Tulsa Municipal Court will be open on the furlough day, November 25th. Juvenile Court also will convene that evening. Municipal Court will be closed both Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.
The City of Tulsa green waste site at 10401 East 56th Street North, will be open on the furlough day, November 25.
Tulsa Parks recreation centers will be closed Wednesday through Friday.
Despite the furlough, the City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter at 3031 North Erie Avenue will be open on November 25, from noon to 6 p.m.
Mohawk and Page Belcher golf courses, as well as Tulsa Zoo and Gilcrease Museum, will be open Wednesday through Friday.
