OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Edmond man charged with embezzling funds from an Oklahoma association that helps abused and neglected children has been ordered to stand trial.
Eugene M. Naukam III waived his preliminary hearing Friday in Oklahoma County District Court and will go to trial on one count of conspiracy to commit a felony and 41 counts of embezzlement. No trial date has been set.
Naukam's attorney, Jeff Byers, didn't immediately return a phone message left at his office.
Prosecutors have alleged that Naukam and his wife, Anna Naukam, used credit cards for the Court Appointed Special Advocate Association to buy items like lingerie, art, college football tickets, plastic surgery, trips and college tuition for Anna Naukam's son.
Anna Naukam pleaded guilty in September to one count of conspiracy to commit a felony and 148 counts of embezzlement.
