PICHER, OK -- Three vacant homes in Picher were destroyed or heavily damaged by fire late Sunday night and authorities say the fires were probably intentionally set.
Two of the homes were featured in a horror movie that was being filmed in the Ottawa County community.
Quapaw Police Chief Gary Graham tells The News On 6 the fires are "certainly suspicious." He says all three homes were vacant and had no electric or gas utilities.
The state Fire Marshal's office will send an investigator to the community on Wednesday.
Several volunteer fire departments responded to the fires late Sunday and early Monday.
Of the three homes, two were scheduled to be demolished since Picher is being abandoned because of contamination from underground lead and zinc mines.
