TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A 6-year-old Sand Springs boy has died after an accident while riding an all-terrain vehicle on a homemade dirt track at his grandfather's home.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the accident involving Daniel Brock Smith-Maynard happened about 6:25 p.m. Wednesday in southwest Tulsa. Troopers say the boy suffered head injuries and was taken to a Tulsa hospital, where he died.
Troopers say the boy was wearing a helmet while riding, but took a curve too fast, causing the ATV to roll once. The boy landed three feet from the vehicle.
