Crews responded to the crash at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday on the northbound lanes of I-35 at Mile Marker 102 near Goldsby.

According to the OHP collision report, 34-year-old David Walter of Noble and 63-year-old Paul Householter of Plano, Texas, were pronounced dead at the scene from head and trunk internal injuries, after they were hit by a 1989 Honda driven by 59-year-old Linda Oliver.

Troopers say Walter and Householter saw another vehicle with two people in it in distress parked on the side of the highway. They stopped, got out of their car, and started walking back towards the people who were having problems to offer assistance.

They were then hit by Oliver's car when it swerved and ran off the roadway to the right.

"It's kind of a good Samaritan act. They went to pull over to see if they can provide assistance," OHP Capt. Chris West said.

Oliver, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, was not injured.

Troopers have listed the cause of the collision as "inattention- distraction from outside vehicle" in the OHP collision report.
