TULSA, Oklahoma -

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper arrested a couple for trafficking in methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Highway 75 late Sunday. David Lloyd Stone of Okmulgee and Marie Lynn Doughty of Henryetta are in the Tulsa County Jail.

Trooper S. Hall pulled over a blue Ford Focus that was southbound on U.S. Highway 75 at 181st Street South just before midnight November 18. Hall said the Ford was weaving out of its lane.

David Stone, 29, was driving. The trooper said there was a strong odor of burnt marijuana on Stone's breath, that he had dilated pupils, blood shot eyes and marijuana residue on his tongue. Stone also displayed "several signs of criminal activity," the trooper said in an arrest report.

"Stone had a rolling stomach, breathing heavily, sweating heavily even though it was cold outside, making unusual small talk and stuttering his words, etc.," Hall said.

Stone was arrested for DUI drugs, and the trooper called a wrecker to tow the vehicle.

Marie Doughty, 31, was in the passenger seat with a purse between her feet, the report states. The trooper asked her to identify her items before the car was towed, and she denied that the purse was hers.

The trooper asked if he could search the purse, and she said yes, according to the report.

"In the bottom of the purse was two large gallon size ziplock bags," the trooper said in his report. Both bags were filled approximately 1/4 full with crystal methamphetamine."

The bags weighed well over 20 grams, the report states.

David Stone is in David L. Moss Jail on a $31,100 bond. He was booked on complaints off trafficking in methamphetamine (one pound), DUI drugs - second offense, failure to keep in proper lane and failure to obtain tax stamp.

Marie Doughty was booked on complaints of trafficking in methamphetamine (one pound) and failure to obtain a tax stamp. She is being held in lieu of $26,000 bond.
