Three people are being held on complaints of shooting with intent to kill after two others were randomly fired upon early Thursday morning in incidents an officer compared to the Good Friday shootings.

"We are lucky tonight that nobody died," TPD Cpl. Dan Miller told News On 6 at the scene.

About 3 a.m., officers were called to East Young Street andNorth Wheeling Avenue after a man said he was driving and someone shot at him, striking his windshield and stocking cap with a bullet.

Police said three people jumped out in front of the man's vehicle to get him to stop, then pointed a gun at him. The driver put the car in reverse, and a bullet hit his vehicle. He was not injured.

About an hour later, TPD was dispatched to Hillcrest Medical Center. When they arrived, they interviewed a woman who had been shot near East Virgin Street and North Madison Avenue. The woman's story was similar to the first shooting, and she told police three people walked out in front of her until she stopped her vehicle, then they fired a gun.

One bullet pierced the woman's vehicle and entered both of her arms. She is expected to be OK, Miller said.

A third person reported a similar incident, but with no shots fired, about an hour later at 36th Street North and Hartford Avenue.

Miller said police located two men and a woman walking in the middle of the street, so police stopped to question them. It was discovered that one of the men "ditched a gun," Miller said, a revolver.

Reggie Williams, 18, Demarreion Aldredge, 18, and Brittany Sanders, 24, are being held at the Tulsa County jail on complaints of shooting with intent to kill.

Aldredge is a fugitive, wanted in Dallas on another charge. He is listed on a police booking sheet as a transient. Williams and Sanders are both Tulsans.

"Somebody ought to be locked up for a long time for that because it could have been anybody, I could been out in the yard and they shoot me, just because they wanted to," neighbor Melvin Harrison said.

Police believe the shootings were acts of violence targeting random people, and even compared them to the deadly Good Friday shootings in North Tulsa, in which two men have been charged with driving up on people and killing them.

No one was seriously injured in this incident, but police said it could have turned out very differently.

"They weren't trying to rob [the victims]," Miller said. "They were just walking down the street, walked out in front of them, pulled a gun and fired shots. We're fortunate no one lost their life."

The investigation is ongoing.
