TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police are searching for two men who robbed a west Tulsa pharmacy, firing shots inside the store, Thursday evening.

At about 8:45 Thursday evening, two men with handguns robbed the Med-X pharmacy at 44th and Southwest Boulevard.

"Witnesses say the suspects came in with hockey or ‘Jason'-style masks," said Corporal Chris Stout.

As one man waited at the front of the store, another went inside and fired shots into the ceiling.

"Jumped over the counter and grabbed a quantity of cough syrup," said Officer JC Comstock.

The cough syrup contains codeine, an opiate mostly used for pain relief.

"These are thugs who are out to get a fix or get drugs to sell," Stout said.

Robbery Detective Chris Stout said, as the two men were leaving, the second gunman fired shots at a witness in the parking lot.

"When they left the store, there was a witness there in the parking lot talking on their cell phone. One of the suspects witnessed that, fired two rounds into the car," Stout said.

That woman, who doesn't want to be identified, said she saw the men go in with guns, so she called 911.

A bullet hit her front bumper as she tried to get away.

"When he opened the door and aimed the gun at me, I threw the car in reverse, ducked my head behind the steering wheel and hit the gas," she said.

The robbers then took off in a Maroon Ford Focus. Police hope someone recognizes or knows the robbers and reports it.

"Any time somebody fires rounds at a robbery or any crime scene it's very serious. These are guys we want to get apprehended as soon as possible," Stout said.

In this case, despite several shots fired, no one was hurt.

"If I would not have chosen to do what I did and put the car in reverse, I would be in a box, and my family would have to bury me," the witness said.

Anyone with information that could help police is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.

All callers remain anonymous and could earn a cash reward.
