SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -

Crooks stole a Green Country family's Christmas, leaving a single mom scrambling to make the holiday happen at the last minute.

The holiday season is a stressful time for most people. But imagine being a single parent of four children, living paycheck-to-paycheck, buying them all gifts, only to have them stolen while you sleep.

For the past few months, Bryanna McIntosh has been preparing for Christmas, picking up presents for her four kids as she could afford them.

"We live in a two-bedroom apartment, and with four kids, there's nowhere to hide them," McIntosh said.

With no place at home to lock up her loot, McIntosh had the toys stashed away in the trunk of the car.

She thought it was a safe place and, so far, even her kids' best snooping hadn't led them to her hiding place.

But McIntosh can't say the same about the person who broke into her car, as she and her kids slept.

As she left for work Thursday morning, McIntosh found the gifts she'd saved months to buy were gone.

"Trunk was open and all the kids' toys were gone, presents, Christmas everything," McIntosh said.

She has worked at Riddle Plant Farm for six years. She wanted to meet us there, because her kids, Doyle, Isabella, Donray and Kyrah, don't know yet that their Christmas may be canceled this year.

"They're not gonna have Christmas, because somebody took it away from them. How can you tell them?" McIntosh said. "Their Christmas, their toys, their presents—nothing now."

Sand Springs Police Captain John Mars said people leave presents in their vehicles every day, but a car is not a safe place to keep valuables.

"If people see or know those items of value are there, they're gonna get them," Mars said.

And though she can't change anything now, she has this to say to the person who took her toys: "I worked hard for other peoples' Christmas, other than my kids. That I hope they enjoy them, because my kids aren't."

Bryanna said she's going to try to take out a loan as a last resort to save her family's Christmas.
