TULSA, Oklahoma -

The Sooner State will see much colder temperatures in the last half of this week, according to News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone.

Crone says a cold front will sweep across Oklahoma making a freeze a real possibility Friday morning in the northern part of the state.

The cold front will not produce any significant severe weather as it moves across northeastern Oklahoma, but temperatures could easily drop below freezing for several hours early Friday and maybe Saturday morning, according to Crone.

Across northeastern Oklahoma, daytime highs on Thursday are expected to be in the lower 40s and in the mid-50s on Friday.

Crone says spring-like weather will return by next week with 70s in the forecast for Monday.

The National Weather Service says the coldest temperatures will be in northwestern Oklahoma and some areas like the panhandle could see snow or sleet.
