MUSTANG, Oklahoma -

Aggressive salesmen are targeting metro neighborhoods and some fear the men may have ties to human trafficking. So far, they've been spotted in Yukon, Mustang, and El Reno.

Rumors have been swirling, mainly on social media, suggesting the apparent salesmen might be involved in human trafficking. Although police have not confirmed that, people we've talked to say they're not taking any chances.

"It was about 8:00 in the morning, somebody started knocking on my door."

A Mustang mother, who did not want to reveal her identity, was home alone Wednesday morning when she says three men showed up on her doorstep.

"They continued to knock for about 10 minutes. Finally I got annoyed, got up, and opened the door."

But, it was what happened next that took her by surprise.

"One of them took the door out of my hand, the glass door out of my hand and stuck his foot in front of it, and I thought that was kind of odd. I was like, ‘Can I help you?'"

She says the men proceeded to ask if her husband was home, or if she had any children.

"And I said, ‘Look, I am armed and I will call the cops.'"

After saying that, the men finally left.  A neighbor snapped a picture of four men who appear to be doing mechanical work on a white Chevrolet Astro minivan, the same van residents say they've seen in their neighborhoods.

The woman News 9 spoke with was so rattled by those aggressive solicitors, that she went on Facebook to warn her neighbors. It didn't take long for that message to spread.

Nicole Varner-Parker wrote in a post, "My husband actually talked to the guy selling the children's books, and he was way too pushy and wouldn't take ‘no' for an answer!"

Brandon Bowers, wrote, "What alarmed me was his first words out of his mouth, ‘Hello Sir, I'm not here to harm your family, I just want to show you my product.'"

"Everyone in the neighborhood is more watchful now," said the Mustang mother.

A vendor is supposed to have a permit and a visible badge when trying to sell you something. Police say if they refuse to take ‘no' for an answer, call 911.
