Investigators spoke out about the disappearance of 17-year-old Molly Miller, who went missing in early July. Another man who is believed to have been with Miller when she was last heard from is also missing, Colt Haynes.

Wilson Police Chief Felix Hernandez told News 9 that it appears to have started when the driver of a car taunted officer and started a chase towards Love County.

Miller's family said that she and Haynes were passengers in the car. The chase, according to law enforcement went into Love County and ended on Long Hollow Rd.

Hernandez said that a 911 call came from Miller's phone after the chase ended. It only lasted five seconds. He added that several other calls were made the morning after the crash from Molly's phone to friends.

Those friends, according to investigators, said that Miller was trying to find a ride. The person who is believed to have been driving the car is alive and has hired a lawyer. News 9's request for comment has not been returned. Miller's family believes that person may know something about the events that night.

"Colt and Molly are both missing, you know, it's not just Molly. And the person driving the car is alive and well and back at home," said Paula Fielder, Miller's cousin. "Why they were all together, we don't know."

Miller was first reported as a runaway, but after no sign of her police upgraded her to missing and endangered. The investigation has taken police all over Oklahoma and into Texas as rumors of Molly Miller and Colt Haynes' whereabouts continue to pop up.

Several agencies have assisted but Miller's family has said they do not think law enforcement has done enough.

The Wilson Police Chief said there have been a lot of rumors started on Facebook about Molly Miller and Colt Haynes' whereabouts. He said there have been reported sightings in Texas, Oklahoma and California.

At the same time there have been tips that the two have died. He explained that the lead detective on the case is working on every lead and several agencies are assisting in the search including OHP, OSBI, the Love County Sheriff's Office, the Carter County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals.

Hernandez also said that any suggestion of corruption or a cover up in the case is false.
