At least one person was killed in a car crash on Northwest 39th Expressway in Bethany, Friday evening. Authorities shut down the westbound side of the expressway, west of Council Rd., while emergency crews worked the scene.

It is unclear at this time how the crash occurred or how many other vehicles may have been involved.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) says they are no longer responding to non-injury accidents at this time.

Crews shut down the eastbound side of Interstate 40, to northbound Interstate 35 for 35 minutes due to ice on the bridge.

News 9 Storm Tracker Val Castor has come across at least four accidents Saturday morning, including a van that had run off the road at I-40 and Banner Road.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) crews are putting down salt and sand for additional traction and to clear accumulation from the roadways. Travel is not advised at this time.
