OKLAHOMA CITY -

The victim of an attempted robbery at a hair salon fought back early Tuesday morning, injuring the would-be robber and sending the suspect to the hospital.

Oklahoma City police say around 12:30 a.m., a suspect with a gun walked into "Head Honchos" near N.E. 36th Street and Lottie. A victim decided to fight back. He disarmed the suspect and subdued him until police arrived.

Police say the suspect was injured during the struggle. An ambulance transported him to the hospital. It's not known how seriously the suspect was injured.

The victim was not hurt.

Police have not released the suspect's name.
