CATOOSA, OK - It's a school project that can save thousands of lives. The Port of Catoosa was home to a major counter-terrorism demonstration Friday afternoon. OU engineering students highlighted ways to keep our cargo safe.

Sooner technology is able to detect terror threats around the globe.

It's a helicopter that you can literally pick up in your hands, but don't be fooled. This chopper is at the cutting-edge of keeping our ports safe.

OU is demonstrating how to keep cargo containers safe as they make their way through our country's ports.

This technology has been developed and built by ordinary students at the College of Engineering, but it's nothing to scoff at. The demonstration showed how easy it could be to mess around with freight cargo.

Student-driven technology can now monitor every cargo container and know what's been opened, moved or tampered with.

OU engineers say only five percent of cargo is checked upon arrival at U.S. ports and the risk of tampering only increases as they make their way inland.
