UNDATED -- The district races are heating  up in Week 9 of high school football.  Two of this week's featured games on Friday Football Fever will be played for district titles.  Here's a break-down of Green Country's biggest games.

JENKS AT MUSKOGEE

THE JENKS TROJANS (7-1, 5-0 6A-3)

  • Last Week: Defeated Bartlesville 50-13

FEATURED: The state's second ranked team has only allowed 20 points in five district games. Jenks hasn't really been challenged since its Sept. 12 loss to Union.

KEY TO SUCCESS: Amid a usual plethora of college prospects, Jenks has won ballgames without putting up outstanding statistics. Strong line play has been the most crucial part of Jenks success, which is evidence of the several different quarterbacks and running backs the Trojans have installed in its lineup.

THE MUSKOGEE ROUGHERS (6-2, 5-0 6A-3)

  • Last Week: Defeated Sapulpa 35-0

FEATURED: A young Roughers team was challenged against the state's best early in the season, picking up close losses to Norman North and Union. The team has matured into district play, beating Broken Arrow and ending its then perfect record. They've since remained unbeaten by winning close, but convincing ballgames.

KEY TO SUCCESS: The Roughers are looking for its first district title in 20 years on Friday night. Muskogee will have the home field advantage against the Trojans and if they win, it means two home playoff games.

CLAREMORE-SEQUOYAH AT CASCIA HALL

THE CLAREMORE-SEQUOYAH EAGLES (6-2, 5-0 3A-3)

  • Last Week: Defeated Blackwell 55-19

FEATURED: Sequoyah has been largely unscathed in district play and "put people in the right positions," after losing two out of its first three contests.

KEY TO SUCCESS: Sequoyah will be on the road playing underdog to No. 1 Cascia, but will pose as the Commandoes biggest threat all season.

THE CASCIA HALL COMMANDOES (7-0, 5-0 3A-3)

  • Last Week: Defeated Dewey 34-7

FEATURED: According to Cascia coach Joe Medina, the team has largely been successful to due to selfless play and guys who aren't concerned about putting up big statistics.

KEY TO SUCCESS: After winning the 2A state title last season, the Commandoes are looking to be the first Cascia squad to win back-to-back championships. Friday's win would give them a district championship and two home playoff games.
