11 Injured as Vehicle Crashes into Dance Studio

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- Eleven people were injured after a vehicle crashed into a dance studio located in the Holiday Square Shopping Center, near SE 15 Street and Air Depot Boulevard. 

"There was screaming kids and panicking parents," office manager Sherry Pierce said. "It was unbelievable."

A dance student's father was outside the Karen Kids Studio of Performing Arts when he accelerated, instead of applying pressure to the breaks, driving his car into the studio where children were rehearsing.

"It was helpless until, I guess, everybody came to the rescue," said Keith Morris, who helped rescue the children. "That's Oklahoma citizens, you know."

Nine children were injured, including one child who suffered a broken collarbone. Two adults were also injured.

None of the injuries were considered life threatening.

The owner of the dance studio, Karen Clark, said Wednesday night she does not know when classes will resume.

The driver was not issued a ticket following the crash.
