OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- A Coweta woman is spending the next two days in the metro getting the star treatment.

She'll be the guest of honor Thursday night at a party planned just for her.

The event, called "Something Pink," is a fundraiser for the Making Memories Foundation, which grants wishes to terminally ill breast cancer patients.

For Sharon Weldeghebriel, getting her wish would be a dream come true.

They arrived at the Waterford, one of Oklahoma City's most premiere hotels. The Weldeghebriel's visit is special and one they won't soon forget.

It's been five years since Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer. The news came on her sixteenth wedding anniversary.

"He said, ‘Yeah, the tests we did yesterday, it came up breast cancer. You have breast cancer. We'll set you up with surgeons, oncologist,'" Weldeghebriel said. "It was very cold and uncaring. It tore the rug out from under me, not to mention that day was my wedding anniversary."

Her cancer has now spread to her lung, liver and bones. It's considered stage four terminal. It's her wish to take her family to Hawaii so she and her husband can renew their vows.

"We just want to have a special time of renewing our vows," Weldeghebriel said. "That's what's kept us strong and kept us going, our faith in God and our love in each other and our kids."

An event at Marianne's Rentals could make Sharon's dream come true. Employees are putting the finishing touches on the big party.

"It was really moving to see the community of vendors regardless of competition and say this isn't about us anymore, it's about helping them make their dream come true," said Brent Patterson, Marianne's Rentals.

Weldeghebriel and her daughter are getting outfitted from head to toe at Balliets, more star treatment for a woman who has been through so much.

"For me, the hardest is seeing my wife and the pain and the treatment that goes with chemo," said husband Tecle Weldeghebriel.

As if the family doesn't have enough to concern themselves with, Tecle Weldeghebriel is having surgery next week for a tumor found on his kidney.
