TULSA, OK -- Officers with the Tulsa Police Department and EMSA responded to a scene where a car crashed into the rail of a bridge and landed in a creek bed.

The incident happened shortly before midnight on Saturday in the 2800 block of South 116 East Avenue.

Officers believe the driver was traveling too fast when entering a curve in the road. The driver then lost control, hit the bridge railing and landed 20 feet below in a creek bed.

Police say the driver and one passenger ran away. Two other passengers stayed at the scene until police arrived. One was taken to a local hospital with a leg injury.

The two passengers told police they didn't know the two people who ran away and were just getting a ride from them.
