Ground Breaking For Happy Hands Education Center

TULSA, OK -- More Tulsa children with hearing impairments will be able to get help.  Happy Hands Education Center broke ground on a new building Friday, near 88^th Street and Garnett Road.

The nearly 21,000 square foot Donald W. Reynolds Center means the Christian organization will be able to more than double their enrollment to about 70 children.

"In matter of days we will begin the preparation for laying the foundation and in a 12 month period we'll move into our building," said Happy Hands Executive Director Al Proo.

Happy Hands received a more than $6.5 million grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation for the building.  The total cost will be about $13 million.

Happy Hands has already raised all but about $2 million of the additional funding needed.
