TULSA, OK -- Many Oklahomans have boxes of old financial files and papers stored away in their homes. Experts say by storing this information, it gives thieves a chance to steal your ID.

The Better Business Bureau in Tulsa says it is important to shred unnecessary documents on a frequent basis.

The News O 6 is proud to team up with the Better Business Bureau once again in sponsoring Shred Fest.

Rick Brinkley with the BBB talked with the News On 6 about the importance of shredding old documents.

Shred Fest is Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Shredders Inc. at 635 West 41st Street in Tulsa.
