UNDATED -- The economy is forcing employees at more than two dozen small newspapers across northeast Oklahoma to take a one week furlough.

Arkansas-based Community Publishers announced this week its employees at 23 community newspapers in Oklahoma, as well as Arkansas and Missouri, will take a five-day furlough by the end of July.

The company's president says advertising declines in auto and real estate have led to a drop in revenue.
