Floodwaters Cause Trouble In Inola

INOLA, OK -- In Inola, high water kept buses from dropping off students at their homes. The Rogers County school had planned to run limited routes on Friday afternoon, but when the water kept rising, school leaders decided to cancel all of its afternoon bus routes.       

Parents were asked to pick up their children at the school.

"If a bus goes down a road, and gets to a spot it can't cross, then it's going to try to back up for a half a mile or more and we just couldn't take that chance," said Inola Superintendent Dr. Kent Holbrook.

The rising water closed several roads.  One truck was stranded in the water.

High waters also flooded a few homes. Emergency workers say they responded to one water rescue.
