Severe Weather Moves Into Eastern Oklahoma

TULSA, OK -- A line of severe storm activity moved into northeastern Oklahoma this morning.   Storms will be capable of damaging winds and large hail.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains until 8am for extreme northern OK, and additional areas may be included in the watch later this morning.  Highs today will range in the lower to mid 80s but temperatures will move down into the mid or upper 70s across northern Ok by 5pm this afternoon.

Check out NewsOn6.com's weather page for the latest information.

The boundary is moving southward and thunderstorms are moving into northern OK this morning.  This complex of storms will have the potential for high wind and large hail.  The forward motion of the system may increase and this could enhance wind damage potential in some locations.

Please remain aware of your weather surroundings early this morning and seek indoor shelter if these storms approach.

The boundary will move into southeastern or eastern OK later this afternoon with additional thunderstorms a possibility.  Some could be quite strong to severe south of I-40 this afternoon or early evening, but current indications point toward the Red River Valley as the higher area for significant severe this evening. We'll need to refine the afternoon forecast later today as residual outflow boundaries and the actual cold front location become apparent.

Temperatures this weekend may be below 70 both days for afternoon highs with another decent chance of showers or storms Sunday.

Early next week warmer air will be approaching with highs eventually into the mid or upper 70s Monday and the lower 80s Tuesday and Wednesday.  The next front may arrive around Thursday of next week followed by a period of calm and dry weather for next weekend.  Hopefully.
