Crash Ends Tulsa Police Chase Late Tuesday

TULSA, OK -- A police chase ends with a car crashing into a busy Brookside restaurant late Tuesday evening. 

The chase began in Owasso at about 10:30 p.m.  

Several customers were inside "In The Raw" at 34^th and Peoria when a car ran into the popular sushi restaurant. 

Officers say the car they were pursuing was driven by 48-year-old Alfred Humphrey. 

Tulsa Police say Humphrey was running from them when he ran into the back of another car, forcing it to crash into "In the Raw. 

At least one customer inside the restaurant needed treatment for a cut on her leg. 

Owasso Police first tried to stop Humphrey in their community Tuesday night, but lost him after he fled police cars at speeds of 100 M.P.H. 

Tulsa Police officers spotted Humphrey's vehicle in the Brookside area and a second police chase was underway. 

Employees of "In The Raw" say they heard the loud crash and immediately ran outside. 

"Right after the glass breaking sound I saw the car and bolted out the front door and the two girls who were in the car accident who entered our building were already outside sitting on the curb," said Katie Sheckarski. 

Witnesses told Tulsa Police the women were walking around and police say they will be okay. 

As for Humphrey, Tulsa Police say he left the scene of that accident in his car and crashed it near 11th and Peoria. 

Humphrey ran away, but police officers caught up to him. 

Humphrey was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a variety of complaints with a bond set at $15,000. 

There is no word yet on the cost of damage to the Tulsa restaurant.
