TULSA, OK -- A driver crashed into a high-voltage power pole Friday night in Tulsa. Tulsa police, fire and hazmat crews responded to the incident, which happened shortly before midnight at 10700 East 41st Street.

Officers say a blue pick-up truck heading eastbound was speeding, clipped a car and crashed into the pole.

Officers say gasoline started leaking from the truck and the power lines were arcing. PSO disconnected the power and called in another crew to lift the lines and set a new post.

As work was underway, 41st was closed for more than four hours between 10800 and Highway 169.

The Tulsa fire chief said the scene had potential for serious danger with gasoline fumes in such close proximity to high voltage lines.

The driver of the truck was arrested.
