DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- A woman was fatally shot during an apparent home invasion in Del City Wednesday morning.
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at a home in the 4500 block of SE 41st Street.
Del City Police Captain Jody Suit said someone left the residence in the morning. Shortly after, two black males kicked in the front door of the home at about 6:30 a.m. The incident appeared to be a burglary.
Teresa Coleman, 47, and another woman were home at the time and went to see what was going on.
"While attempting to burglarize the residence, they were confronted by the victim and another female in the residence. At that time, a shot was fired," Suit said.
Coleman was hit and killed by the shot.

One suspect was wearing a bandana, has short hair and a goatee and was last seen wearing a khaki shirt and khaki long pants. Police said the other suspect has short hair and was wearing a baseball cap.
