TULSA, OK -- An Okemah woman is in the hospital after a car crash Monday morning that police are saying was no accident.

Officers with the Tulsa Police Department say the woman intentionally drove off the parking lot embankment at the Tulsa Spine Hospital in South Tulsa.

Officers say the details are still a little fuzzy. Police are trying to find out why Kim Billings drove over the steep embankment at the Tulsa Spine Specialty Hospital. The retaining wall didn't crack, but there are visible tire tracks.

It's what Billings did before she crashed that have police thinking it may have been a suicide attempt.

Police say the 31-year-old was driving with her three boys, ages 11, 12 and 13.

"She was asking the children to get out of the car and the 13-year-old said he would get out," said Cpl. Mike Fitzgerald, Tulsa Police.

The oldest boy got out along the highway in Jenks, somewhere between Glenpool and 121st Avenue.
Police say Billings was then involved in an accident. They received the call at about 8:30 a.m.

"We were originally assigned out to a hit and run accident at 71st and Olympia," said Officer Ken McCoy, Tulsa Police.

"The other vehicle that she hit was following her thinking that it was a hit and run," said Cpl. Mike Fitzgerald, Tulsa Police.

Police say Billings left the accident and continued to drive to the Tulsa Spine Hospital where she dropped off her other two children.

Billings then accelerated through the parking lot, hit the retaining wall and went over the steep embankment, police say.

"Came out, looked around, saw the car on its cab and she was pinned in the car," said Thom Biby, a witness to the accident.

Police are continuing the investigation. They have not ruled out the suicide attempt.

All three children are said to be okay. A relative was notified and picked the children up from the Tulsa Spine Specialty Hospital.

Billings was issued several citations.

"It's basically two separate incidents here, one from the wreck and the other one could possibly be a suicide attempt," said Officer Ken McCoy, Tulsa Police.

Billings was taken to a Tulsa hospital for her injuries. Both of her legs were broken and she also broke an arm.
