OKLAHOMA CITY - Eight units were destroyed and 20 were damaged in an apartment fire this morning in Oklahoma City.

Seventy-five firefighters battled the three-alarm blaze late into the morning at the Pine Ridge Condominiums in the 6600 block of Edenborough Drive, Deputy Chief Cecil Clay said.

Clay also said at least 30 people were evacuated.

One person was transported to the hospital and another was treated for minor injuries.

Oklahoma City firefighters said three firefighters were treated for back, knee and eye injuries. The firefighter with back injuries was taken to the hospital and the other two were treated and released at the scene.

Clay said a woman was cooking breakfast around 4:15 a.m. and then fell asleep, leaving food on the stove. When she woke up, her kitchen was engulfed in flames.
