UNDATED -- An apology - of sorts - came from T. Boone Pickens who says he should have worked with city officials in Holdenville before removing a slab of concrete with his name on it.
The slab was part of the driveway at what used to be his grandmother's home.
In a statement on his website, Pickens said he was disappointed the home had fallen into disrepair and wanted to protect a cherished memory.
The home's current owner, David McCart, was furious Pickens took the slab. He says he bought the two-story, 17-room home in Holdenville nearly 20 years ago -- partly because of Pickens' signature -- said he went to the property to mow the grass on June 22 and noticed the 3-by-5-foot slab was missing.
Now he wants to pursue criminal charges against the billionaire energy magnate.
