TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Fire Department responds to a car fire and a house fire overnight.

A night out for a pair of teenagers ends with a car on fire. Tulsa Police received a call about a possible auto theft in the 8600 block of East 15th Street around 11:30 p.m.

At about the same time, the Tulsa Fire Department received a call about a possible car fire in the same location.

Firefighters arrived to find the car's engine on fire. Police say the car belongs to a teenager who lives a nearby house.

The teen say she left a friend in the car, while she went back to her house. Police say the friend drove off and crashed the car which sparked the fire.

About an hour and half later, Tulsa firefighters were called to a report of a house fire in the 500 block of East 40th Place North.

Upon arrival firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

A woman and 8 children in the house were able to escape uninjured.

The Red Cross is now assisting the family.

The cause of that fire remains under investigation.
