TULSA, OK -- A degree in Mathematics and one in Biology are not necessarily the typical agriculture education. But, a young Tulsa couple have plowed that background and their hopes and dreams into a small farm.
The hard work is growing vegetables. For the last year, Chelsea Coleman and Don Drury have operated Bootstrap Farm.
Drury says the project's been more expensive to get off the ground than he thought.
"And, it actually has not been as much work as I thought it was gonna be," said Don Drury.
They're leasing eight acres in south Tulsa County and looking for their own place to buy. Farming is not necessarily the family business.
Drury has a math degree from TU and Coleman has an Associate of Biology degree from TCC, not the typical agriculture background, but they're working hard.
"We're young we can take it right now," said Don Drury.
Learning by doing, building a small business, and they're not afraid to get their hands dirty.
You can see Drury and Coleman at the Cherry Street Farmers Market most every Wednesday and Saturday.
